Enteral nutrition (EN) is a method of meeting a person’s specific nutritional needs where they cannot meet their nutritional needs through diet alone.
The specialised nutritional formula provides vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates fats and essential nutrients that people need. Many people on HEN have complex health conditions.
EN is a safe and effective therapy that can be managed in the home setting (Home enteral nutrition, or HEN). High quality HEN services are essential to support patients to access appropriate and effective appropriate clinical care and formula and equipment.
