Keeping Kids Safe in the ED - Think Amber, The Children's Hospital Westmead
The aim of this project was to introduce oral syringes into the ED to improve patient safety and to measure their use by a repeated staff survey, counting oral sytinges and IIMS reporting, comparing 2006 to 2007.

Be NEAT with patient care - Sydney Local Health District
The project aim was to identify whole of hosiptal strategies that will improve the delivery of patient care in a safe, efficient and timely manner; assisting the facility to achieve the NEAT at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). The Be NEAT with Patient Care project will address the journey of patients admitted through the Emergency Department to inpatient RPAH beds, through to discharge from RPAH.
Assessment of patients with Parkinson's Disease in the ED - Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital
The following tools have been developed for patients with Parkinson's Disease (PD) who present to the emergency department (ED) at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital. This project was completed with the support of the ED NUM, ED CNE's, ASET staff, allied health, Pharmacy Director, ED pharmacist, a consumer and eMR support staff.
Data was collected over 17months that demonstrated that there was one PD presentation to the ED every two days. This pathway is only applicable to the ED and other areas in the hospital are encouraged to develop their own pathway. The following resources have been develop by the team.
