Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Pregnancy is determined by history of ammenorhea, clinical signs and qualitative bHCG levels measured in the blood and urine. There is a broad range of measured bHCG relative to gestational age level. Trends are useful when determining viability, and discretionary levels can be used as a guide for what we should see at ultrasound. PV ultrasound should see a gestational sac at 1500, and 6000 for transabdominal ultrasound.
