An update on frailty research and its application to healthcare

Prof Susan Howlett & Prof Kenneth Rockwood, from Dalhousie University in Canada, will be are sharing their insights into frailty. Presented by the NSLHD Rehabilitation & Aged Care Network, and sponsored by the ACI Aged Care Network.

Prof Susan Howlett, Professor of Pharmacology and Geriatric Medicine, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada.

Susan pioneered the measurement of frailty in animals with a novel "frailty index" tool and showed that frailty promotes maladaptive changes associated with cardiac ageing.

Prof Kenneth Rockwood, Professor of Medicine (Geriatric Medicine and Neurology), Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada.
A leading authority on frailty, Kenneth’s research interests include clinical and epidemiological aspects of frailty, dementia and delirium, complexity of frailty and clinico-mathematical correlation.
